Great news from Dads Stuff HQ with our resident Cocktail expert Andy mixing up his first Cocktail of the Month – tell us what you think of this one, the Arches of Rome in the comment section below. Take it away Andy!
Some time ago my girlfriend & I realised we were unintentionally building a stockpile of booze as we’d continue to purchase a couple of bottles duty free each time we – or friends – travelled. As a result we decided to create a Cocktail of the Month each month so as to have an excuse to work our way slowly through it beyond the lame excuse of “it’s Tuesday night, let’s get drunk!”
Sometimes these cocktails are a success, sometimes…less so. This month’s attempt would fall into the latter category.
Returning from a recent work trip to NZ I purchased a bottle of Mozart white chocolate vanilla liqueur, which is magnificent on its own and requires no embellishments. But a quick search of the internet showed how adding nothing more than a couple of shots of vodka could improve this liquid magnificence further.
After witnessing my girlfriend’s furrowed brow of disgust after only one sip I went back through my procedure to figure out where I went wrong with something so simple. Then it struck me: the recipe called for white chocolate liqueur, what I had used was white chocolate cream liqueur. The difference is, sadly, more than semantics.
So whilst I shall stoically continue to consume this month’s Cocktail of the Month, my girlfriend is patiently awaiting December.
