HILLBILLY SWEET JULIE CIDER
Hillbilly’s new Sweet Julie Cider is the first and only cider to be made from the new Blue Mountains apple variety BPN 02, better known as Julie.  The first Julie tree grew from a discarded seed at the back of a shed on an orchard in Bilpin. It was then grafted onto several thousand sets of root-stock and is now being trialled in all Australian apple growing regions as well as in several overseas. It is a large bright red apple that exhibits flavours of strawberry, pineapple & pear. The Julie apple works very well in a cider. The aroma is big and fruity. The flavour is a great mix of apple & raspberry without being overly sweet which makes it very easy drinking on a warm day, and at 3.5% ABV you can have a couple without worrying. The raspberry dissipates on the back palate leaving you with a delicious lingering apple aftertaste.
