I remember first having Cascade Pale Ale in my local pub and thinking it was the greatest beer I’d found in Australia. Well times have changed and the selection of Pales in the market has gone through the roof. I saw it the other day and thought it was about time I revisted those days of it being on tap, although the fact it was a 4 pack rather than the 6 pack I remember it being in years gone by did confuse me for a while.
Anyway, onto the beer, its light, refreshing and has mid-level flavours. It’s not very fruity, but it’s got more to it than any of the other major brewers pale ales. I’ve always been a fan of Cascade and I would recommend this as something different for an afternoon ale. It’s also a lovely brewery to go and see if you ever find yourself in Tasmania, it’s a magnificent looking building.
