When I first read that the Das Helles German style lager from Batch Brewing weighed in at a hefty 5.5% I was a little apprehensive that the alcohol content may dominate the flavour. That most certainly isn’t the case and this is one of my favourite beers going around. It’s so smooth and creamy without being heavy like an English ale. It’s got hints of caramel with a slight bitter aftertaste. An ABSOLUTE MUST TRY. Perfect for any season, any occasion, any meal (perhaps not breakfast, but in all honesty, it would probably go really bloody well with a full English fry up!)
