GET IT BEFORE IT’S GONE! Seriously, we’re not kidding… read on and you’ll see why we shouted at you to start.

After 6 years of lazy Sunday mornings in everyone’s favourite, friendly neighbourhood cafe, ESCA Group announces the closure of Cuckoo Callay, making way for a new venture. But before this eclectic venue bids farewell to Crown Street on June 11, Cuckoo Callay is bringing back their all-time favourite dishes as an unforgettable way to say goodbye.

The menu revival is starting with the iconic Return of the MacDaddy, an almost-too-good-to-be-true combination of bacon, and mac and cheese all stuffed into a flaky croissant. Also making a guest-star appearance is the mouth-watering Lemon and White Chocolate Hotcakes. Finally, Cuckoo is bringing back their Lamb Rendang Roti Tacos for those feeling a little savoury about their departure.

Let’s be honest, it would be hard to choose between the three, so we’re going to have one of each, every day, until we can’t anymore… ok? Don’t judge!

“It’s bittersweet to bid farewell to Cuckoo Callay. The venue wriggled its way onto Crown Street and brought locals a quirky combo of delicious food and great memories. However, we do believe it’s time to embark on a new adventure that pushes the boundaries and challenges the ordinary. We’re so excited to revitalise this space and redefine our presence in Surry Hills, creating an exciting and unique experience that will resonate with our loyal community and the people of Sydney.” – says Ibrahim Moubadder, Co-Founder of ESCA Group.

Dine with Cuckoo Callay before they close to post them a ‘goodbye postcard’ to thank staff members for the memories. Filling out one of these cards will give patrons a chance to win 1 in 5 exclusive double dinner experiences to be the first to experience the newest venue at the soft opening.

Maybe you’re not ready to move on just yet, but Cuckoo Callay’s retirement makes way for ESCA’s newest Japanese Izakaya-style restaurant, Itō, opening in its place later this year. We can’t guarantee the bold and brash breakfasts, all we can say is we think you’ll love it…

Don’t miss your last chance to bid Cuckoo Callay goodbye before they close their doors forever on June 11. No need to book! Simply walk-in for a spot and your last chance to try their quirky creations.
